I've heard something really terrible. The MobiTV company will soon be providing television channels for our mobile gadgets like phones,
personal digital assistants, and Pocket PCS.
The new technology will let users watch news, documentaries, and their favorite TV shows anywhere, anytime. I think I don't need this, because I have my wife Marge. I can't take Marge wherever I go-- except for the days when I have to go shopping-- but she's definitely doing a great job reminding us of current events and the sordid affairs of our maid with our neighbors.
According to the article, MobiTV will be offering over 50 stations worldwide. These channels include CNN, ABC, FOX, TLC, and CNBC. I think this is great especially for American Idol fanatics since they won't have to worry about missing the last episode. But as for me, I've got enough on my plate even without seeing
Simon Cowell making snide remarks on my phone. And that's just one disadvantage of having TV on your CP!
Cingular, Sprint, and Alltel are the three carriers that will make this endeavor possible. I thought I've got the worst when techno-freaks said that PDAs are laptop killers. But with the big racket MobiTV is doing, PDAs will soon be TV killers.
